I did an internship with Visit Indy January-April in 2015. My title was the Communications and Marketing Intern. My job was to be a part of the marketing team and help spread Visit Indy's key messages and complete any work they needed me to do. I sat in on meetings to stay up-to-date on the most recent happenings in the organization and the city as a whole. During my time there, I saw crisis communication with the passing of RFRA in Indiana. I was able to see all the strategy that goes into releasing statements and also saw how quickly things change during a crisis.

A sample of the work I completed during my four months with Visit Indy is showcased below. Some of my highlights include writing for DoingIndy.com, scoring national media coverage in Epicure & Culture for the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Union Station and coordinating itineraries for visiting media guests. I also worked with our videographer to schedule filmings at Indianapolis attractions and helped brainstorm lists and activities, including research that helped land another national media hit for Indianapolis food festivals. Additionally, I managed the Visit Indy Rose Awards' Facebook page by planning posts and photographing nominees to share on the page. While our digital marketing manager was out the of office, I put together Twitter posts for when she was gone, including links and photos to use for Visit Indy's Twitter account.
